The /æ/ sound

To pronounce the short a vowel sound /æ/ (as in apple) also known as the Low front tense vowel the jaw should be lowered and the tip of the tongue touches behind the lower teeth. This vowel does not exist in Spanish (Arias Soto, 2009, p.91)
