Rick and Ray rode down the river in a rugged rubber raft.

The ride was rough, rushing through the rocks.

It was so much fun, Rick and Ray both laughed!

Ruth removed her rainproof raincoat on a really rainy day.

When a rainbow reached across the sky, Ruth rejoiced and said, "Hooray!"

Rascal Rex was a runaway rabbit, running through the radish patch.

Farmer Reggie ran after Rex, and caught that rabbit!

What a catch!

Ruby Rose tied bright red ribbons 'round the ringlets in her hair.

She wore a dress with rows of ruffles and raised the roof at the county fair.

Rah!

Ray, ray, ray!

Rah!

Ray, ray, roo!

Lots of r words just for you.

R is the letter that follows q.

For the initial R sound:

“My r Book” by Jane Moncure - Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEEWgLKexwc

Little r had a box

“I will fill my box”, he said.

Little r found rabbits and radishes.

He put them into his box.

Little r found a rooster.

“In you go, rooster”, he said.

He found a raccoon.

The raccoon ran

Little r ran after him

and put him into the box.

Then he saw a rat.

The rat ran.

Little r caught the rat.

Guess where he put the rat?

Then he ran down the road.

Little r found a reindeer

and a rowboat.

He put all of his things into the rowboat.

Away he went.

It began to rain.

So he put on his raincoat.

Then he found a rhinoceros

and a raft.

So he put all of his things on the raft.

But the raft ran into a rock

The reindeer fell off the raft

Little r found a rope.

He pulled the reindeer back onto the raft.

“Let's rest”, he said.

They rested under a rainbow.

Then the rabbit said,

“Let's run a race”.

They ran up the road to a rosebush.

Little r said, “let's play ring-around-the-roses”.

And they did.

More words with little r:

razor, robe, red, rattlesnake, robin, radio, rug, rattle, ribbon, robot, ring, rice, rocket, roof, r.

Little p had a box.

She said, “I will fill my box”.

Little p found a poodle and her puppy.

“In you go”, she said.

Little p found a pig and her piglets.

She put them into her box.

Then she walked to the park.

She saw a picnic table and a picnic basket.

They were under a peach tree.

“Let's have a picnic”, she said.

What a picnic!

Little p put the animals back into her box.

She put in the leftover peanuts, pickles, popcorn, and pie too.

Now the box was so heavy,  it was about to pop.

Little p found a pony and a cart.

Please pull us”, she said.

The pony pulled them right to a porcupine.

Little P gave him popcorn

She put him into her box.

Then she saw a peacock.

She put the peacock into her box.

Suddenly the pony stopped!

She saw a panther in the path.

The pony jumped. The animals fall out of the box.

The panther pounced on the box.

He ate up all the peanuts, pickles, popcorn, and pie.

Then a policeman came by.

“You have found our pet panther”, he said.

“Please help me take him back to the zoo”.

So all the animals went to the zoo. What a parade!

For the initial K sound: “My c Book” by Jane Belk Mancure - Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBH8tjMWppw&t=37s

Little c had a box.

“I will find things that begin with my /k/ sound she said.

I will put them into my sound box.

Little c was cold.

She found some coats.

Little c put on a coat.

Did she put the other coats into her box?

She did. Little c found some caps.

She put on a cap

Did she put the other caps into her box with the coats?

She did.

Then little c saw a caterpillar.

Before she put the caterpillar into the box,

it made a cocoon.

So she put the cocoon into her box.

Soon little c found a car.

She got into the car and went for a drive in the country.

She saw a cat.

The cat was chasing a canary.

Little c called the cat.

She put it into her box.

Then she called to the canary.

The canary flew into the cage.

Little c put the cage and canary into her box.

Little c saw a cow and a calf near some corn.

She put the cow, the calf, and the corn on the cob into her box.

Then little c drove her car through a desert.

She saw a camel and a cactus.

She put them into her box.

She drove to the end of the road, where she found a castle!

A big castle.

A clown was in the castle.

“Come in”, said the clown.

Little c got out of the car.

She carried her box into the castle.

She saw a cake with candles on it.

“You are just in time for my party!” said the clown.

Little c took off her coat and cap.

She lifted the cage with the canary out of the box.

She lifted out the cocoon with the caterpillar inside.

Then all the other animals came out of the box.

They all sat down to a birthday party.

The caterpillar did not eat because it was still in the cocoon.

Can you read these words with little c?

crown, can, camera, cup, curtain, carrot, comb, cloud, card, crayon, cowboy, calendar, cucumber, cape.
